<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">There is nothing too crafty about today's post. It is something I happened upon while browsing. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I am not very fond of composting at home owing to the space constraints and my apprehensions about the process. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">We all have garbage bins and perhaps two or three nowadays, owing to the waste segregation to be done at source. The wet waste needs to go out daily and hence a garbage liner each day. I usually used to use the bags in which grocery came or buy the garbage bags. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">One particular day, when I became a little too environment conscious, I browsed online for garbage liner alternatives and learned that newspapers could be used. I had to try it out to see how effective it was. But I had to have an easy bag tutorial, which would take probably just a few minutes. And my search landed me here - <a href="http://www.thealternative.in/lifestyle/diy-newspaper-garbage-bags/">thealternative.in</a>. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The page has clear instructions on how to create the bags. To circulate to our ladies in my apartment, I compiled all the pics into one. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-72oCT4fIXnM/VxDFA7f6AyI/AAAAAAAAFbI/Tf5srLUU_O8aRPZlscm2yXFPe1g-iwoYQCLcB/s1600/step1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="570" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-72oCT4fIXnM/VxDFA7f6AyI/AAAAAAAAFbI/Tf5srLUU_O8aRPZlscm2yXFPe1g-iwoYQCLcB/s640/step1.jpg" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I just improvised a bit on it by stapling the two triangles being folded in (step 7). And I fold the bottom corners to give it a flat base.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Now coming to using it, it was tough initially. Somedays it would become soggy and I had to put in it plastic bags before taking it out of the house. Now gradually I have become used to the method. I would add one more sheet of newspaper, or add a folded sheet at the base. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">While disposing of the very wet waste, I try to wrap it in paper or trap it in the vegetable waste so that the water content does not touch the newspaper liner. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Give it a try and it hardly takes 1 minute. Our little bit to the environment.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Painting is a task I love. But I have always dreaded the mess, smell, and preparation. All these years I have stayed away from painting for these reasons and many more, such as lack of knowledge, space constraints, difficulties of painting with a toddler at home, and even the impatience of having to let dry between coats.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">We have an open balcony facing the busy road. We had to cover it up for some privacy and dust control. After some basic research, we decided to put up bamboo blinds, which we thought would look very pretty. Husband had the task of contacting the vendors, getting quotes and getting it installed. We decided we would not get it colored as the options they provided did not suit our taste. So we settled for the natural tone with a sealant coating. And it was finally delivered.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I was the happiest when it was installed. It really did provide all the privacy we needed and was still airy and see-through.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">This is how it looked from outside.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-pDBDarM64_Y/VwJgFeq2wHI/AAAAAAAAFZU/eIbbq0_Aij8MK5Uj_VXw_n7ik-NlkNUkQ/s1600/NaturalFinish.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="156" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-pDBDarM64_Y/VwJgFeq2wHI/AAAAAAAAFZU/eIbbq0_Aij8MK5Uj_VXw_n7ik-NlkNUkQ/s640/NaturalFinish.jpg" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Notice the blinds at the back and the evening sunlight falling on my baby's face and right shoulder.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ASrKzcedy8U/VwJhfoPftcI/AAAAAAAAFZg/eViS_P3KrP8FYVBDq01oeu96gYY4qEWkQ/s1600/_DSC8543.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ASrKzcedy8U/VwJhfoPftcI/AAAAAAAAFZg/eViS_P3KrP8FYVBDq01oeu96gYY4qEWkQ/s640/_DSC8543.jpg" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Off went few months of dusty summer and wet rains. One day I noticed that the blinds did not look too clean. The required coats of sealant was not applied or it had worn out too soon. I could see thin dark lines running along the length of the blinds. Dirt? I was not sure. One round of spray washing did not resolve it. The ugliness of it clung in the back of my mind every now and then. I was not sure of what had to be done. And handling it is pretty much of a task owing to the dimensions and weight.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Then one day we decided to paint it. We settled on white. My parents had come down for a few days and luckily was our option of toddler control. Me and hubby took down the blinds one-by-one, painted a coat of white paint on both the sides, let it dry and hung it back.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">It was a hurried and not-too-neat job. We wanted it to be done at the earliest. That was the primary concern. Not to mention the paint blotches all over the place, our hands and feet, and the numbness and tiredness. Well, I just wanted it to get over.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Somehow done, it was put back in place and looked kind-of-okay. As we applied only one coat of paint, when it dried up few dark lines were visible here and there. Well, I did not want to worry anymore! At least, any time soon.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">There it hung for another year, protecting our balcony from the dust, sun, and the cold weathers. During the heavy rains I would spray wash it down from the inside as well.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Excuse me for the very blurry picture... This is all what I could get for the moment.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-s7N08ezy0zc/VwJhsmNOpaI/AAAAAAAAFZk/nQSm3gWSfAMWoVx03QVfSrI4IrV5aEZkg/s1600/Before.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="289" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-s7N08ezy0zc/VwJhsmNOpaI/AAAAAAAAFZk/nQSm3gWSfAMWoVx03QVfSrI4IrV5aEZkg/s320/Before.jpg" width="320" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">You can see a glimpse of it in the background in these pictures.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dbkksDUagUA/VwJh7wEXbSI/AAAAAAAAFZs/k3iC36JIWfIqPcBuh_O6QIP6tKCGSxL6g/s1600/20150425_081905.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dbkksDUagUA/VwJh7wEXbSI/AAAAAAAAFZs/k3iC36JIWfIqPcBuh_O6QIP6tKCGSxL6g/s1600/20150425_081905.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="335" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dbkksDUagUA/VwJh7wEXbSI/AAAAAAAAFZs/k3iC36JIWfIqPcBuh_O6QIP6tKCGSxL6g/s400/20150425_081905.jpg" width="400" /></a><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5QlurC2Bfno/VwJh6_RbuiI/AAAAAAAAFZo/URz_F4He1VE-EVh8_K2TLqaP8izZElFHQ/s1600/20150425_081859.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5QlurC2Bfno/VwJh6_RbuiI/AAAAAAAAFZo/URz_F4He1VE-EVh8_K2TLqaP8izZElFHQ/s400/20150425_081859.jpg" width="400" /></a></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">But again, two months back, I started noticing the weathered look it had. This time since the base was white, it actually looked a dirty brown shade. Every time I passed by the gate and saw the dirty blinds, my heart twitched in embarrassment and the intense desire to do something about it.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Painting was something I still dreaded. And I was sure that hubby would not be very eager to help. My very-inquisitive toddler would be the happiest to help and the most problematic to control when over-excited. I popped the question to hubby a few times but never reached a conclusion.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Over one weekend I decided that I had to take the step and pestered my husband to get the paints. This time we decided, a dark shade would be the best option. And we zeroed on a dark walnut finish enamel paint.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">This time I did not want to make any mistakes. So I decided not to do it in a hurry and give time for prepping and curing. I kept telling myself, not to be the impatient self that I always am when it comes to crafting and other home improvement projects.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Once hubby brought the blinds down, I spray washed it and wiped it down with a thick towel. The towel soaked up all the dirt and water. I rolled and kept it upright to drain the water. Meanwhile, I prepped my work area - the passage corner. I stuck up newspapers all over the wall and even for a few inches on the floor.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-WYvxfivs3Vo/VwJibf0SIQI/AAAAAAAAFZ0/Wnd7Vms_Oign2ssp1q-mjw2eldV0lT0MA/s1600/IMG_0469.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-WYvxfivs3Vo/VwJibf0SIQI/AAAAAAAAFZ0/Wnd7Vms_Oign2ssp1q-mjw2eldV0lT0MA/s640/IMG_0469.JPG" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Then I spread out an old curtain on the floor to catch any paint spills.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-P1BzkJV0P9M/VwJibTx8j4I/AAAAAAAAFZ4/2Blp8I4tBjQpq96DX1a1CrwbBsO6ede5w/s1600/IMG_0470.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="550" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-P1BzkJV0P9M/VwJibTx8j4I/AAAAAAAAFZ4/2Blp8I4tBjQpq96DX1a1CrwbBsO6ede5w/s640/IMG_0470.JPG" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">By then, the blind was drained of water. I brought it out and spread it out on the prepared area to dry and left it there.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zEZt-YXdASk/VwJix4rU_RI/AAAAAAAAFaM/4lIPK_a4xxMHbF3o508qAcwpL1Oy0U5Pg/s1600/IMG_0479.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zEZt-YXdASk/VwJix4rU_RI/AAAAAAAAFaM/4lIPK_a4xxMHbF3o508qAcwpL1Oy0U5Pg/s640/IMG_0479.JPG" width="480" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">It looked like this.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-prnp1PfqhLA/VwJixAiCmeI/AAAAAAAAFaA/rpW4baWSxkkOxbEKMLO2ZBL54LNFwybGg/s1600/IMG_0476.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-prnp1PfqhLA/VwJixAiCmeI/AAAAAAAAFaA/rpW4baWSxkkOxbEKMLO2ZBL54LNFwybGg/s640/IMG_0476.JPG" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Looks fine right? Check this out.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_6hs61TtoDk/VwJixcNdILI/AAAAAAAAFaI/FvsEVJLCmbwxeaqXFRg9Bfgw081vd5Uqw/s1600/IMG_0477.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_6hs61TtoDk/VwJixcNdILI/AAAAAAAAFaI/FvsEVJLCmbwxeaqXFRg9Bfgw081vd5Uqw/s640/IMG_0477.JPG" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">And this.... now you can see how distressed it looks with the paint stripped off almost everywhere.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-OO98H2PBx9w/VwJixYCd3EI/AAAAAAAAFaE/YVRvce6TQtoKgVAHqpVcoLJMzsIsZjTFg/s1600/IMG_0478.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-OO98H2PBx9w/VwJixYCd3EI/AAAAAAAAFaE/YVRvce6TQtoKgVAHqpVcoLJMzsIsZjTFg/s640/IMG_0478.JPG" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Then when I could slip out without my kid noticing, I carried out the paint, brush, and a piece of cloth and started the painting.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UvGr4QAGHGM/VwJkjTAzHqI/AAAAAAAAFag/8jFyerFShXA8SJjos-15I6jkmJd2BlJzg/s1600/IMG_0482.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UvGr4QAGHGM/VwJkjTAzHqI/AAAAAAAAFag/8jFyerFShXA8SJjos-15I6jkmJd2BlJzg/s640/IMG_0482.JPG" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MtwfHzc3168/VwJkjIKIbuI/AAAAAAAAFac/f31D5xWjl08Cdq6J7zU4WYlg1Qxpd7zpA/s1600/IMG_0483.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MtwfHzc3168/VwJkjIKIbuI/AAAAAAAAFac/f31D5xWjl08Cdq6J7zU4WYlg1Qxpd7zpA/s640/IMG_0483.JPG" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The painting continued for hours, days, and perhaps over a week. I would wake an hour earlier than usual and stay up an hour late to get the task accomplished. And this time, I was the only one doing the job. Hubby and kid joined for a little while one day, but I did not encourage it as it was getting crowded and a little messy.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">It was a stress buster at times. I could go on and on without having to worry about anything. My hands ached a lot at times but I loved how it was turning out. So I did not stop. And this time, as I said, no mistakes - I painted two coats on each side.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I did not keep the count of hours that was taken to complete the job but after lots of sleep deprived mornings, mosquito bitten nights, and toddler-attack anxiety filled days, I finished the job!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">We hung up all the blinds back on the balcony and I must tell you it looks way much neat now. What others think, I am not sure, but I admire it each day I pass by. :-)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">I love greenery within the house. I have always kept money plants indoors, wherever we lived.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">After moving into our home, last year, I made few attempts to grow money plants indoors. It often wilted due to lack of sunlight and neglect. Finally I had given up on the idea.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">When browsing through blogs, I saw the fake topiaries and had an instant liking to the idea. There were some good topiaries in the home decor stores and online. But I found them pricey for the size or quality.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">On a recent shopping trip, I found few artificial leaf bunches. They were small leaves and had a color gradient - dark green at the bottom and lighter as it went up. And it wasn't pricey. I bought 3 bunches of it to make my own topiary.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">Back home, I decided to use a plastic container I had in the kitchen to hold it. I bought some floral foam, fixed it into the container, and carved a sphere on the top. The leaves were pretty long. So I cut each strand into two - the darker and lighter ones.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-N-_Y3uEnOQ8/VnENxarYpeI/AAAAAAAAFS4/6LYlMEoAx-s/s1600/IMG_0388.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-N-_Y3uEnOQ8/VnENxarYpeI/AAAAAAAAFS4/6LYlMEoAx-s/s640/IMG_0388.jpg" width="640" /></span></a><br>
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">In the picture, you can see the bigger and darker leaves to the bottom right. The tender and lighter leaves are to the upper left.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">Working with the foam was very easy. I just had to push the stalks in. I started working from the bottom of the sphere. The darkest leaves on the bottom and as I worked upwards, I added the lighter ones. This gave it a natural color tone.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qNR_SIxdHZk/VnEj_QA1MgI/AAAAAAAAFTU/7_P0SYE_hEs/s1600/IMG_0389.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qNR_SIxdHZk/VnEj_QA1MgI/AAAAAAAAFTU/7_P0SYE_hEs/s640/IMG_0389.jpg" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">Once the greenery was set, I moved onto prepping the container. There were various options - spray paint, wrap with jute/yarn, cover with fabric, and so on. Finally, I decided to go with a macrame wrapping. I had some white macrame and made a very long 5-strand braid.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XUiFOxJ7O-E/VnEPPfUxYTI/AAAAAAAAFTE/GSL2db9m6Zo/s1600/IMG_0383.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="285" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XUiFOxJ7O-E/VnEPPfUxYTI/AAAAAAAAFTE/GSL2db9m6Zo/s640/IMG_0383.jpg" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">You can see three rounds of the braid in the picture.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">The container had a glossy surface. I was not sure how to attach the macrame braid to the surface. After few rounds of thinking I figured out that I could use masking tape.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">Stuck a layer of masking tape around the container and then I could attach the braids with regular craft glue. Unfortunately, I do not have any pictures of the process.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">And it was done.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jPBCEUPtY9I/VnEkax0DH1I/AAAAAAAAFTg/6vZF8VQnCak/s1600/IMG_0382.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jPBCEUPtY9I/VnEkax0DH1I/AAAAAAAAFTg/6vZF8VQnCak/s640/IMG_0382.jpg" width="480" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">For the very top row before the braid, I twisted some macrame cords and fixed it.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Like always, I have been away from the blog for a very long time. Though crafts were happening in the background, I never got around to photographing or updating the posts here.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The last one month was a completely gloomy month (weather-wise) in Bangalore, owing to the Chennai rains and floods. It was always raining, drizzling, and cold. It was really hard to catch a sunny and warm day during those days. Now it is kind of back to normal with sunny, warm days.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Last week I managed to take some pictures in the evening light. So first up today, is an upcycle or makeover.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">We have a red stool with metal legs. I do not know the age of it. I have been seeing it since I was a kid. It was bought by my parents when they were in the MiddleEast. When we moved to Bangalore, it came along. For the past few years it was not being used properly and was often neglected. There were some burn marks on the red leather and the metal leg had started to show signs of aging. For the past one year we never used it and it lay in the utility area.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-S5gzQZseIZM/Vm_DN_ss80I/AAAAAAAAFRc/r00Z0mevjbM/s1600/IMG_0345.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-S5gzQZseIZM/Vm_DN_ss80I/AAAAAAAAFRc/r00Z0mevjbM/s640/IMG_0345.jpg" width="508" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Recently I was asked to give it away while clearing up the utility. But the sentimental side of me was not ready to. I had no clue what to do with it. Still I decided to keep it as it was still sturdy and chic looking.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">This picture shows how sad looking it was.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IRjc517k3zw/Vm_EQvn1cOI/AAAAAAAAFRo/pm7HsUJK7Pk/s1600/IMG_0344.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="538" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IRjc517k3zw/Vm_EQvn1cOI/AAAAAAAAFRo/pm7HsUJK7Pk/s640/IMG_0344.jpg" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I had a can of bronze spray paint from a previous project and decided to put it to use. I decided to give the stool a makeover.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">First task was to find a fabric for the seat. I decided upon a dark/navy blue fabric. I do not have much knowledge on the fabric types but I can tell you that it is a heavy and at the same time breathable fabric. It has been lying around in my stash for the past few years. This is from my mom's collection.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lw_1VUBacqs/Vm_FAzRRS-I/AAAAAAAAFR0/623VbyQHAeY/s1600/IMG_0360.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="392" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lw_1VUBacqs/Vm_FAzRRS-I/AAAAAAAAFR0/623VbyQHAeY/s640/IMG_0360.jpg" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Next task was to dismantle the stool and sand the legs. The legs were showing the signs of age in the form of imperfections formed on the metal surface due to the exposure to all bad weather conditions over the past few years.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Once it was sanded smooth, wiped with a soft damp cloth, and dried, it was time for the painting. We applied two coats and it dried pretty quicky. I was overjoyed with the finish.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JszkUuEhFt0/Vm_G2NOkWPI/AAAAAAAAFSM/TpPH9mJewV0/s1600/IMG_0357.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JszkUuEhFt0/Vm_G2NOkWPI/AAAAAAAAFSM/TpPH9mJewV0/s640/IMG_0357.jpg" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Next I cut out the fabric and hand stitched it to the backside of the seat, pulling it taut.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Within very less time the project was completed.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-IUFoAsEM52M/Vm_HXNvavhI/AAAAAAAAFSY/CHkDJya4QhI/s1600/IMG_0346.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-IUFoAsEM52M/Vm_HXNvavhI/AAAAAAAAFSY/CHkDJya4QhI/s640/IMG_0346.jpg" width="546" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I love how it looks now.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-XhhLEM5fmF0/Vm_JKizYd5I/AAAAAAAAFSk/q8fnM44Fz-k/s1600/IMG_0354.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-XhhLEM5fmF0/Vm_JKizYd5I/AAAAAAAAFSk/q8fnM44Fz-k/s640/IMG_0354.jpg" width="552" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Now it rests by the bedside in the guest room. Happy to have given it a home. </span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">A friend gifted my lil one a Barbie doll for her birthday. Well, I was the one who was more excited than she was! The doll was a pretty one with brown lush hair and lots of accessories. The only thing I did not like about her was her dress. It was way to small for her and kept sliding up her hip always and the upper portion kept falling of her shoulders. And needless to say, the dress was gone in few days time.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The poor thing lay naked in the toy basket. Every time I saw it, I felt pity. Finally, it occurred to me that I should make a small dress for her. Well, I wished and it was done.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">It would not have taken one hour to make. It was super easy, fast, and cute. Here it is.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XvkvoF-2NjQ/Vbn_GZKyC7I/AAAAAAAAFPA/9tNQ7WV18Rw/s1600/IMG_0280.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XvkvoF-2NjQ/Vbn_GZKyC7I/AAAAAAAAFPA/9tNQ7WV18Rw/s640/IMG_0280.JPG" width="480" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">And how can you not show off her curves.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UNbwbGnIRwk/Vbn_OozYpMI/AAAAAAAAFPI/WBfRbyelg98/s1600/IMG_0285.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UNbwbGnIRwk/Vbn_OozYpMI/AAAAAAAAFPI/WBfRbyelg98/s640/IMG_0285.JPG" width="480" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Well, now she looks very neat and cute. No more embarrassment.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-I8_Ny0c0YbM/Vbn_bbyFBdI/AAAAAAAAFPY/pdnoG89CzUQ/s1600/IMG_0283.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-I8_Ny0c0YbM/Vbn_bbyFBdI/AAAAAAAAFPY/pdnoG89CzUQ/s640/IMG_0283.JPG" width="480" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I have used single, double, and treble crochet stitches for the dress. It is loosely based on the <a href="http://flowersncolors.blogspot.in/2014/01/lacy-dress.html" target="_blank">Lacy Crochet Dress</a> I made for my daughter last year.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-11Z46UWp6G8/Vbn_ZM3qpEI/AAAAAAAAFPQ/quaBOR0aMy8/s1600/IMG_0282.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-11Z46UWp6G8/Vbn_ZM3qpEI/AAAAAAAAFPQ/quaBOR0aMy8/s640/IMG_0282.JPG" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">It was a quick, easy, and cute project.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Being a kid I loved play tents. I never had one officially but we did make temporary ones to play. When my daughter started growing up and playing by self I wanted to create one for her. I really wanted to satisfy my craving for a cute tent. </span><br />
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">So the first one was built even before she was a year old. Though she did not understand the concept, she kind of used it to play peek-a-boo or at times just hide from us. I never posted it here. It was build by a window and was very tall with small shiny things hung in it to keep her entertained. This was built in the house where we stayed before moving into our own. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
After moving into our house, I started browsing for tent options. I did not want a permanent one. Not too big. I should be able to keep an eye on her from the kitchen. And so on were my conditions. I was pretty impressed with the PVC pipe tent ideas on Pinterest. I really wanted to do one. We even went and checked the pipes. But we had after thoughts and dropped the idea.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
Finally, two weeks back I figured out an easy and temporary solution for the Play Tent. We have put the sofa in the living room as an L-shape and the back of the two seater faces the kitchen. I decided that the tent should be built at the back of the sofa so that I can keep a watch on her when I am in the kitchen and it would not be visible from the entry to the house as well.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
And it was done!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Can you make out what it is? No? Okay, let's see the details. It is semi-circular and big enough for my lil one to sleep with her doll in it (which she often does) :-)</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-HAjsmiVuzMA/Vbn3XCZvG1I/AAAAAAAAFNs/0wWELJ-diH8/s1600/IMG_0304.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-HAjsmiVuzMA/Vbn3XCZvG1I/AAAAAAAAFNs/0wWELJ-diH8/s640/IMG_0304.JPG" width="368" /></span></a></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">This is the framework. Very simple!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9mT_JnXLjvU/Vbn3jeVCqOI/AAAAAAAAFN0/jCia0TyAjnE/s1600/IMG_0307.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9mT_JnXLjvU/Vbn3jeVCqOI/AAAAAAAAFN0/jCia0TyAjnE/s640/IMG_0307.JPG" width="480" /></span></a></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I removed the flexible bars of her play gym and secured it to the back of the sofa in a semi-circle. Before securing it, I slid two PVC T-connectors into it. The connector was hubby's idea.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Into the T-connector I fixed two PVC pipes (painted it white too). </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Then I cut out the shape similar to the top portion of the tent, from an old foam bed. Sewed up a cheerful cover for it.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SLMJCzhoJso/Vbn4_iWsP_I/AAAAAAAAFOA/xsScsMcqA74/s1600/IMG_0309.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SLMJCzhoJso/Vbn4_iWsP_I/AAAAAAAAFOA/xsScsMcqA74/s640/IMG_0309.JPG" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Sewed in two cords to the foam and secured the pipes in position.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-uE5CLyxoHh4/Vbn5JhwkbDI/AAAAAAAAFOI/CwqeMXTrP3U/s1600/IMG_0314.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-uE5CLyxoHh4/Vbn5JhwkbDI/AAAAAAAAFOI/CwqeMXTrP3U/s640/IMG_0314.JPG" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">See, it stays in place and does not slide of.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-rCLOs2PmYkM/Vbn5auovGlI/AAAAAAAAFOw/MG0TPZZQuqU/s1600/IMG_0310.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="418" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-rCLOs2PmYkM/Vbn5auovGlI/AAAAAAAAFOw/MG0TPZZQuqU/s640/IMG_0310.JPG" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Draped a lovely, see-through cloth over the frame. </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VPJG8ZuL4n8/Vbn5P8NAmiI/AAAAAAAAFOQ/vatKzZxvwgg/s1600/IMG_0313.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VPJG8ZuL4n8/Vbn5P8NAmiI/AAAAAAAAFOQ/vatKzZxvwgg/s640/IMG_0313.JPG" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uWi85aQmr0M/Vbn5Q5saSEI/AAAAAAAAFOY/Tbc0FHHuhAw/s1600/IMG_0311.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uWi85aQmr0M/Vbn5Q5saSEI/AAAAAAAAFOY/Tbc0FHHuhAw/s320/IMG_0311.JPG" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">And my (her) tent was ready!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OPRFBx_f5p4/Vbn5W4ra22I/AAAAAAAAFOg/FdTYsqnT5hY/s1600/IMG_0303.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OPRFBx_f5p4/Vbn5W4ra22I/AAAAAAAAFOg/FdTYsqnT5hY/s640/IMG_0303.JPG" width="596" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The best part about it is that it is very easy to be taken apart and rebuilt everyday. Just take out the pipes from the connector along with the foam. The top portion falls flat to the back of the sofa. So simple. To build it back, I just need to put the pipe ends in the connectors. </span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I have been away for a really long while. There was nothing crafty happening all these days. It was not like I did not want to do anything crafty but I never found that crafty-time. I was mostly drained out and lacked the enthusiasm to pick up my hook and yarn. There was always a list of TO-DO tasks in front of me and I felt guilty if I even thought about indulging in some craftiness to satisfy my creative needs.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
However, I realized that my tasks will always be there whether I craft or not. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
My balcony has some pots and plants. I do not spend much time with my plants now. But how much ever time I spent tending them, I did not like those brown plastic pots, all kept in row. Provided that my balcony is not too wide, I do not have any other options than the pots. So I decided that I'll add some colors to it. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
See how it looked before. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wiBooQzJQHI/VbCT1u8MFYI/AAAAAAAAFL0/1vEKgj4GOTI/s1600/20150425_081834.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wiBooQzJQHI/VbCT1u8MFYI/AAAAAAAAFL0/1vEKgj4GOTI/s640/20150425_081834.jpg" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
<br />
<br />
</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Co_48Mw_kms/VbCT3H8LlyI/AAAAAAAAFL8/y6Yws99QHYE/s1600/20150425_081844.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Co_48Mw_kms/VbCT3H8LlyI/AAAAAAAAFL8/y6Yws99QHYE/s640/20150425_081844.jpg" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
This was a difficult task than I expected it to be. I had to apply two coats of paint as the pots are plastic and I bought enamel paints for a glossy finish. And when I started the project, the weather was not too great. It took longer to dry. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
Another challenge was placing the pots to dry. I could not keep it close to the balcony glass and also had to keep constant watch on my toddler whenever entry to the balcony was open. There were lot of challenges - the mess, the cleanup, time, weather, space constraint, weight of the pots with the plants to move it around, and so on. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
See an in progress picture.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BdGkGHgXyTg/VbCUIyfDVNI/AAAAAAAAFME/ZtfW1lHqczw/s1600/20150425_081859.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BdGkGHgXyTg/VbCUIyfDVNI/AAAAAAAAFME/ZtfW1lHqczw/s640/20150425_081859.jpg" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
This is how my balcony looked like on many early weekend mornings.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Tyjz7bRU-BA/VbCULCk6KoI/AAAAAAAAFMM/79AUDH4c2EM/s1600/20150425_081905.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="537" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Tyjz7bRU-BA/VbCULCk6KoI/AAAAAAAAFMM/79AUDH4c2EM/s640/20150425_081905.jpg" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
I was never able to paint more than one or two pots in a sitting. So the project did actually span over some time. And till it was completed, the balcony was kind of non-functional. Each time I painted a pot, I had to clean up the brushes, throw away the newspaper sheets used, and have everything shoved out of reached before the little hands touched them. I had to get up early on weekends to get an hour or so to paint. Sometimes I used to paint these pots at midnight after putting my little one to bed. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
And finally I achieved it. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-V2GaQsmvIno/VbCUsPXq1TI/AAAAAAAAFMg/NwaQ2IWCa50/s1600/IMG_0288.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-V2GaQsmvIno/VbCUsPXq1TI/AAAAAAAAFMg/NwaQ2IWCa50/s640/IMG_0288.JPG" width="584" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
<br />
<br />
</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7nFn5Q42sJc/VbCUrq9RyyI/AAAAAAAAFMU/BvoMlCN9JaQ/s1600/IMG_0291.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="490" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7nFn5Q42sJc/VbCUrq9RyyI/AAAAAAAAFMU/BvoMlCN9JaQ/s640/IMG_0291.JPG" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
You can see the drip marks on the wooden plank placed beneath the pots. That is another thing on my TO-DO list! Phew!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
As you see, I tried using two shades for most of the pots. It was again time consuming. I had to put tapes at the dividing area. Paint one portion. Wait for it to dry. Apply one more coat. Again wait for it to dry. Remove the tape and paint the second portion. Wait for it to dry and apply second coat. That was when one pot could be called complete. It was tedious. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PIM243tMMfQ/VbCVWyEmR9I/AAAAAAAAFMw/d2SFcrqv1Q8/s1600/IMG_0292.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="548" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PIM243tMMfQ/VbCVWyEmR9I/AAAAAAAAFMw/d2SFcrqv1Q8/s640/IMG_0292.JPG" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
Some are in single random shades.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-yQYoiAesPcY/VbCVvN3IfzI/AAAAAAAAFNA/x6tBBRDUsgY/s1600/IMG_0293.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-yQYoiAesPcY/VbCVvN3IfzI/AAAAAAAAFNA/x6tBBRDUsgY/s640/IMG_0293.JPG" width="578" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I experimented mixing the colors to create shades. Some turned out way too awful and I had to throw it away. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
But I loved the result. My colors may not be too bright or great. But now my balcony is definitely prettier than it was. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FcOwHFzvQYI/VbCUsLL-J7I/AAAAAAAAFMY/BND0UFL9fk8/s1600/IMG_0294.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; display: inline !important; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FcOwHFzvQYI/VbCUsLL-J7I/AAAAAAAAFMY/BND0UFL9fk8/s640/IMG_0294.JPG" width="640" /></a></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
I am just imagining bright orange marigolds and roses in full bloom in the colorful pots on my balcony. I may have to wait little longer for that. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
Will I take up these projects again? Yes, I definitely would. For the love of colors and now I have learned few things from my mistakes :-)</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I finally managed to write a pattern for the white scarf. I named it as Even-Eyelet Scarf. Reason being that it is worked as eyelets placed evenly throughout the scarf.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">It is a quick and easy pattern. Once you get the flow, you can just whip it up fast, probably in an evening and wear it the next day!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The best part is that you can easily customize the length and width of it. It is airy and best suited for mildly cool weather. You can use a chunkier yarn and create a chunkier scarf.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">You can find the pattern in my <a href="https://www.etsy.com/in-en/shop/resmirin?ref=hdr_shop_menu" target="_blank">Etsy</a>, <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/stores/resmi-ravi-designs" target="_blank">Ravelry</a>, and <a href="http://www.craftsy.com/my/pattern-store" target="_blank">Craftsy </a>pattern stores.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Scarves are perhaps the easiest and quickest items to crochet. An absolute stash buster project. You can try varying colors and different stitches. And almost everything turns nice and pretty as a scarf.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I have been making some scarves and also had a few which I had made quite some time back.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Weaved in all the ends and gathered everything for some photo shoot :-)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">First one has the color combination as the one I used for the <a href="http://flowersncolors.blogspot.in/2012/02/mini-green-blanket.html" target="_blank">Mini Green Blanket</a>.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Last week, it was our little Angel's second birthday. We decided to host a small get together at home. There were few infants on the guest list and we wanted all the toddlers, infants, and Moms to be comfortable. We had around 25 people and prepping the house for the event really kept me on my toes for quite few weeks. Finally, there was a chance to unpack any unopened boxes, organize entire wardrobe, give away or sell-off no more used items, and make our home tidier. Once everything was in place, we thought of few decorations to be done.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">It was minimalistic but this is what we did:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">- Settled on for shades of blue and lighter complementing tones.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">- Created a big '2' from metallic blue-shaded balloons.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">- Ribbon backdrop for the cake cutting.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">- Tissue paper pom-poms hanging from the ceiling.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">- Line of pom poms on a wall.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">- Considerable amount of balloons all over the floor.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Now some snaps.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The pics are little blurred as I cropped them out from the whole to show just the decor. If possible I may upload a few more good pics.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Now look at this doily table spread. It is a lovely spread, handed over to me by my Mom. And this was the perfect occasion to use it.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Last Friday, was color day at my daughter's day care. And the color decided was brown. Brown!! I was thinking - Really?? I thought there would be some brown dress stashed in her cupboard, which probably was not being worn and was long forgotten. On Thursday, I pulled out all the dresses, but could not find one that was brown. Hubby said let's buy one or let's just forget it was Brown Day. Even I felt forgetting was better. I tried to forget it the whole day, it just didn't leave my mind. But I didn't want to buy one either. </span><br />
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Thinking thinking thinking, I thought I should make something. But my sewing skills are bad. I pulled out the few old brown clothes we had. I could not decide what to make - a brown top? shirt dress? or what. I knew attempting any of these would need enough time to complete, which I didn't have. And it may not end up neat. I was worrying more than required.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Soon I thought - I can make an easy peasy skirt! Yes, I finalized on it. That was the easiest I could make in this short time. I browsed for some really simple, yet cute patterns. Summary of most of the patterns were - cloth twice the waist size and some wide elastic. I had both handy and started off.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Cut out the bottom portion of a brown kurta of mine. I really loved this but had not worn it for the past few years. So the fabric was ready.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Measured out the elastic and kept it ready.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Took out my sewing machine and started stitching. </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">It really didn't take me much time. It was cute but too plain. And it was sleep time. So I thought let it be plain. </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Friday morning, my heart again wished that I add some cuteness to it. Before getting ready for office, I quickly pulled out my ribbons, decided on a very soft pink wide satin one, and stitched it to the skirt.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Let me show you the pic.</span></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2QybK3e5e6o/VJJmu8_gzoI/AAAAAAAAFBo/Pd7Aqy3GAe8/s1600/IMG_8509.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2QybK3e5e6o/VJJmu8_gzoI/AAAAAAAAFBo/Pd7Aqy3GAe8/s1600/IMG_8509.JPG" height="480" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">It may not be a perfect one. But it was quick, easy, and cute. And my daughter was also excited!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Something to make me happy again.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I was asked to make a hat and pair of booties for a cute little girl. Though I kept pushing it and delaying the project, the lady was extremely understanding and waited. I finally got the determination, ordered the yarn, and completed the project in a few days times.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Picture Time!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--C7IJaKQlHw/VIfhWnXL41I/AAAAAAAAFBU/_hT8iU-dtcs/s1600/IMG_8503.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--C7IJaKQlHw/VIfhWnXL41I/AAAAAAAAFBU/_hT8iU-dtcs/s1600/IMG_8503.JPG" height="480" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I chose the colors. The blue is a Nako Pirlanta and Off white is an Acrylic Vardhaman Yarn.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I just cannot get enough of these rosettes. They are super cute and easy to make.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">A hint of ribbon!</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Booties... hmm... these were meant to be for the summer actually. But I made the delay! Again a baby pink cute ribbon to perfect the fit on the teeny tiny ankles. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">And how could I end the post without showing you these lovelies blooming on my balcony.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"> Just look at these... Three-a-bunch. Hope my heart will allow me to cut and place them in a bottle in the living room.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">In my <a href="http://flowersncolors.blogspot.in/2014/11/red-white-black.html" target="_blank">last post</a>, I mentioned how I put together a quick Minnie mouse costume for my daughter. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Here is the pic of how it looked on her.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>

<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VzwG8QNoW9k/VHavi-0oqVI/AAAAAAAAFAM/N1KV2F-RmTg/s1600/IMG-20141126-WA0010.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VzwG8QNoW9k/VHavi-0oqVI/AAAAAAAAFAM/N1KV2F-RmTg/s1600/IMG-20141126-WA0010.jpg" height="640" width="387" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">We did not manage to get any good photos as she kept wriggling around and once she wears her shoes, then she does not want to wait a second to go to school. She was happy. Me too. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">What I think was the cutest was the headband. She wore it the whole day and insisted on wearing it when we went out the next day. So I had to pull out the bow and the pom poms :-(</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Wondering what the title is about?</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-fpDGtKFJZcU/VGWoFASmbYI/AAAAAAAAE-0/8mQ_Ai2SVvg/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="588" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-fpDGtKFJZcU/VGWoFASmbYI/AAAAAAAAE-0/8mQ_Ai2SVvg/s640/1.jpg" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Well, my daughter started going to the Day Care last week, and day before yesterday I was informed that they are conducting a Fancy Dress Competition for the kids to celebrate Children's Day that is today. I thought I will just dress her in some traditional skirt and blouse as I didn't have much time and my lil one does not co-operate well with dresses other than stretch pants and Tees.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">But my crafty side and wanting to dress up my girl was not letting me sit idle. I was clear on two things - I will not buy any costumes nor will I spend too much time on the project, as I was not sure if she would wear it at all. I took a look at her dresses and finalized on a cute, red frock that she wore on her very first birthday. Then it was up till a little above her ankles. Now I knew it would be just till her knees or so. But it is a cute dress... will frills and tiny embellishments, satin and a tulle over it. Many thoughts crossed my mind - butterfly, angel, and even Red Riding Hood.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I had almost zeroed in on a Butterfly. But could not buy the supplies yesterday due to incessant rain. Then I thought I'll go with Red Riding Hood. I searched my stash and old clothes, but could not find a material to match the hood and I was very doubtful that she would wear it. Finally when I was putting her to bed, I browsed for ideas and saw some Minnie mouse costume. Yes! I finalized. As soon as she was asleep (11:45 PM) I told my hubby that it would be a Minnie. After finishing off a very very late dinner and other stuff I finally started to get the dress together.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Here is the pic for my idea and details.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lyvDgJviLJ4/VGWf4ISR52I/AAAAAAAAE90/wWB4BLSL3tE/s1600/Rescuers-save-Minnie-Mouse-sea.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lyvDgJviLJ4/VGWf4ISR52I/AAAAAAAAE90/wWB4BLSL3tE/s320/Rescuers-save-Minnie-Mouse-sea.jpg" width="172" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The first thing was the black highlighted ears and the red bow.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">- I wrapped black yarn over a headband and hot glued the yarn ends.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">- I thought of cutting out felt ears but hubby suggested Pom Poms. He had seen me making some of those over the last few days. I opened my Pandora's box :-D (my yarn box). I was lucky enough to have some black yarn and quickly made two Pom Poms. I hot glued them to the headband and tied the strings also so that it doesn't come off.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">- For the bow, I cut out a bow shape felt, gave it a little pinch in the center (vertically) and hand-stitched it onto the yarn layer on the band.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">- Next, I cut out white small felt circles and stuck them to the bow.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">And the headpiece was done.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TeojbQ2xUGg/VGWkmBzCP4I/AAAAAAAAE-Y/yDberwTxnJA/s1600/20141114_094738.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TeojbQ2xUGg/VGWkmBzCP4I/AAAAAAAAE-Y/yDberwTxnJA/s640/20141114_094738.jpg" width="606" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The pics were taken on my phone, early in the morning and are not clear enough!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Now the polka dots for the dress. I thought of many things - paper circles, felt, fabric paint, etc. Felt won. But again fixing them to the dress was the next question. I knew hand stitching would be the best option, but I was out of time. It was already 2 AM. I quickly cut out some felt circles and stuck them onto the tulle layer with some clear tape. It was very clear to me that these would come off but I had no more energy and time to spent.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UcVTyS0mytk/VGWjPme-9iI/AAAAAAAAE-Q/R3lNcstK_KA/s1600/20141114_094710.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="490" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UcVTyS0mytk/VGWjPme-9iI/AAAAAAAAE-Q/R3lNcstK_KA/s640/20141114_094710.jpg" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">And how can you miss the yellow shoes Minnie wears. Felt was my option again. I just cut out a small half oval for the front of her pink shoes and stuck the pieces with clear tape.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-FZNoxEmCeO8/VGWlebZW3rI/AAAAAAAAE-g/q_bKY5hGXW4/s1600/20141114_094900.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="472" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-FZNoxEmCeO8/VGWlebZW3rI/AAAAAAAAE-g/q_bKY5hGXW4/s640/20141114_094900.jpg" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I wanted to kick myself for not having bought her a pair of black stockings yet. The closest dark color stocking she has is a navy blue one and it didn't quite go with it. So I matched it up with a black stretch pant and red and black stripped socks. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Done.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PQiHjnQ5V00/VGWmqdz9DzI/AAAAAAAAE-s/VtL7vOmljXM/s1600/20141114_094656.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PQiHjnQ5V00/VGWmqdz9DzI/AAAAAAAAE-s/VtL7vOmljXM/s640/20141114_094656.jpg" width="556" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">And how it went? Well, the little Minnie loved it and she is a little obsessed with her yellow crocs now. When one felt dot fell off from the dress, she starting picking the other dots and I had to keep fixing them back :-) The bow and ears looked too cute on her!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I skipped few things for the costume - gloves (no time), black full sleeved tee beneath the dress (it would be hot for her), and did not paint her nose black ;-)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">My Minne mouse was all happy and I did click some pics while she kept wriggling out of the frame. Hopefully, I'll post those soon.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">It has been a very very long gap. I am not sure if I would contribute frequently going forward also - because Crafting is taking a very back seat in my life now. Even though I do some knick knacks now and then, who gets the time for photographs. And what is a craft post without some nice cute pics. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">This post also would not have any pics... but I am just letting you know... I am now making some pom poms. WHY? I have lots of yarn which I would not use for any other projects and making pom poms does not require me to keep track of stitches or be very keen. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I am planning to make a small plush rug. Hopefully I will be done in a few days (weeks) time. I often see my pom poms rolling on the floor, being thrown up in the air, and being spread around by the lil one at home :-)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">And btw, I used my Big Pink Blanket for the first time ever. It is huge and cozy. The three of us snuggled to the warmth under it and I kept clinging to it all night. And it looks lovely when laid out on the bed. Hopefully I can take a picture and post soon.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">See you soon!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">My first craft stall was put up over the weekend at an apartment for an event they were hosting. I had mixed feelings about putting up the stall. It was the first time ever I was going to put my items out in the display for the public to see. But it went well. I didn't make much sales though. Yet I got to learn a lot, met lots of new people, got my contact across to many, and so on.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The stall was up by the time I was at the venue and the sun was right on top. A friend was helping me out. We put out the items on display. We spent quite a lot of time hanging stuff, pinning, re-pinning, rearranging, viewing, discussing, and so on. Finally, everything was spread out and it actually looked pretty. I was a little nervous too.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Around evening people started dropping in. Some just passed by, some came and took a look, and few others looked at each item. People who were interested in colorful stuff and handicrafts spent time at my stall. They went through each item. Asked me the price, time involved to create, yarn type, and so on. And some who were knowledgeable about the craft enquired more.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Almost everybody made it a point to take my card (hubby was happy about that as he had designed it ;-)). We were at the stall till night. I wouldn't say it was a great event. But yes, I finally got a platform to display my stuff. And the best thing, I completed many unfinished stuff which had been lying around for a long long while. Especially the Big Pink Blanket. Looking forward to many more such events in the future.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">With my little one and work, life does not give me much time to craft. Thanks to my parents being here, so that I get at least the minimal time for little knick knacks. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I started something new - Teaching Crochet. Yes, I finally really did that. Initially I was very skeptical about the whole teaching process. Meeting new people, teaching, keeping up time, being organized, everything pulled me back. But then I finally made up my mind and put forward to the process. I created off a basic plan, worked out a fee, decided on some easy yet interesting patterns, and then put up my ad. Initially the response was not that great. Or the enquiries came from too far. But over the last 2 months, it started working out. I got a couple of interested candidates. And yes, I have been teaching them and it is really great!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">What I like the most about these classes are that I get to interact with people interested in crafting and I get some crafty time without any distractions. I am not doing the classes at home. Otherwise my lil one wouldn't let me do it at all. So that's about the classes.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Something more interesting happened. In response to my ad, I got a call to put up a stall for an event! I really couldn't believe it or wasn't even prepared for it. But I didn't want this chance to slip by. So I held onto it tight. Family is also supportive. The event is happening tomorrow. I have been very busy over the past one week. My daughter waits for me to reach home in the evenings and doesn't leave me for anything else after that. And any few minutes I get when she is distracted from me, I take up the hook and yarn. I haven't made much progress. But managed to make a couple of items. I am sure it won't even be enough to fill up the table, but looking forward to it. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Unlike selling online, this is actually going to be a tough job. I might have to answer queries, sit in the heat, organize and re-organize, and what all... not sure.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Hubby designed and got the visiting cards and tags printed out. He is also helping me with the tagging part. Mom and dad are ready to help with the paper bags. And my angel is ready to pull down and tear off anything coming within her reach :-)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Phew! Lots of work left for the day! More updates after the event. Wish me luck!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">After making the modified version of the Angel Pinnafore dress, I wanted to make one more dress for my angel. I ordered some yarn from Pony Store - Nako Pirlanta. I kept drooling over it for days and weeks. Could not decide what to make out of it. Thinking thinking thinking. Didn't want to make one more dress of the same pattern. So finally decided to go with my creative instincts and create a new one based on my own pattern. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I drew out patterns, tried swatches, and what not. Finally I discovered what I wanted and made this cute lil dress for my angel. Take a look.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Its perfect on her. It looks like a flowing dress with the ruffles at the bottom.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>

<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I added two buttons and applied coat to match the dress color. May be reworked on.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">My heart skips a beat or two with joy whenever I see her wearing the dress. </span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I put on a lighter shade of stockings for her and her attire is complete and elegant. Love it.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I have been browsing the web for a lacy crochet pattern for a project on my mind. I really never thought anything that suitable until I chanced upon the Eva Shawl pattern. I didn't have to waste any moment thinking. I just knew that was what I was searching for.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Started it off and it is on my hook now.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">It has reached the required dimensions. Just some finishing stitches and weaving in the threads remaining. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Finished item in my next post! Bye.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I tried yet another new project - a Sunhat for my cutie pie.</span><br />
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I saw some stitched versions of it on Pinterest and thought I should have one for my lil one (though she pulls it off). I did find some patterns, but did not find anything with the dimensions I wanted. So I figured out the math and finally made one.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Here it is.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="clear: left; float: left; font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Rn-kr10W3wY/UpRb31zYuXI/AAAAAAAAEWw/lSrQMTK6slM/s640/IMG_8307.JPG" width="640" /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I wanted to take few pics with my lil model wearing it. But unfortunately, she can't stay still for pics. I'll have t take some time out to do a proper photoshoot.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Now, coming to the yarn - it is Nako Comfort Stretch. Thanks to <a href="http://ninujacob.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Ninu </a>without whom I wouldn't have found it. It can be ordered from the Pony Craft Store. The yarn is really soft and as the name suggests, it really does stretch. And exactly is the reason I chose it for this project. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Now the rosette. I enjoyed making the rosette a lot. It was super quick and addictive. Especially, when it comes to Shell stitches, I just love it. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I am now have a Crocheter's block.... Thinking, thinking, thinking, what to make next!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Since I started crochet, I have always wanted to make a dress or something of that sort. Making one for me means too much of yarn and time. And I may not wear it too. Luckily I have my cute lil angel now for that.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I came across <a href="http://www.bevscountrycottage.com/angel-wings-pinafore.html" target="_blank">this</a> pattern and instantly wanted one for my angel. I crocheted for a few days and here is the result.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-a2_msKDpyQg/Uo801sndWKI/AAAAAAAAEVU/RNEOJLEZUJY/s1600/IMG_8275.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-a2_msKDpyQg/Uo801sndWKI/AAAAAAAAEVU/RNEOJLEZUJY/s640/IMG_8275.JPG" width="480" /></span></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"> </span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cglu6C8lfCM/Uo85CyyHp9I/AAAAAAAAEVw/2CPjhvGgtHk/s1600/IMG_8281.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cglu6C8lfCM/Uo85CyyHp9I/AAAAAAAAEVw/2CPjhvGgtHk/s640/IMG_8281.JPG" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"> </span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Ndl2DZUHnUk/Uo87RZuV6BI/AAAAAAAAEWM/NGoGRwOkS6Y/s1600/IMG_8285.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Ndl2DZUHnUk/Uo87RZuV6BI/AAAAAAAAEWM/NGoGRwOkS6Y/s640/IMG_8285.JPG" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I was uncertain about the end result. Many a times, I thought I should stop it half way and roll back all those yarn. But still the urge to create one kept me going. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Unlike the pattern, it is not a pinafore. It is a dress with two buttons at the back.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1BJ_eSNLpvQ/Uo86hJsk7PI/AAAAAAAAEWE/ADxNHR7xh70/s1600/IMG_8284.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1BJ_eSNLpvQ/Uo86hJsk7PI/AAAAAAAAEWE/ADxNHR7xh70/s640/IMG_8284.JPG" width="640" /></span></a><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I modified the pattern heavily. Increased the number of stitches, rows, changed the style from pinafore to dress, and made it look like a bubble dress with a shell edging.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nU-ABwS5-qE/Uo81_8A8lWI/AAAAAAAAEVc/Oz_syNe1oRg/s1600/IMG_8280.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nU-ABwS5-qE/Uo81_8A8lWI/AAAAAAAAEVc/Oz_syNe1oRg/s640/IMG_8280.JPG" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Here's a sneak peak into the inside of the dress. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TXkVRP_In9s/Uo85qBUVtkI/AAAAAAAAEV4/47MWPvbEG2U/s1600/IMG_8282.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TXkVRP_In9s/Uo85qBUVtkI/AAAAAAAAEV4/47MWPvbEG2U/s640/IMG_8282.JPG" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Excuse the poor quality pics. I did not have much time as somebody lil was tagging and pulling at my legs to be lifted up. Only while I was transferring the images did I realize that I had put it in the wrong setting. And no time for pics again now. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">One more pic of this dress... I am so much in love with it. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">After my baby's birth, I never really had time for any good craft. I had made few shawls before the delivery, which she snuggles in at night. All I could make for her after that were booties. I had never tried booties before. But when we started taking my baby out and she needed something for her soft feet, I started hunting patterns for booties. I came across the Posh Crochet Baby Booties video by CrochetHooksYou and have made 4 booties for her since then.</span><br />
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I doesn't take much and gives instant satisfaction. I don't have pictures of the earlier 3 and now her feet has outgrown those. I made some tweekings to the sole and the overall design and created a new pair for her bigger (cuter :-)) feet. Time for some pictures.</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Nothing fancy. Just to keep her feet protected. She has now completed 9 months and is often out of the house in the yarn either crawling or on her walker. Could not get a decent picture of her wearing the booties. She does not like being stationary now :-)</span></div>

I have been away for a long while now. Reason - I have become a mom now. You can read more about my experience <a href="http://www.finallystartedblogging.blogspot.com/2013/05/back.html" target="_blank">here</a>.<br />
<br />
Well, being a working mom means that I have no time for crafts. But how can I control my hands that itch to craft. I have resorted to sewing more now. It saves a lot of time and the results are quick. Crochet is off my list for some time now. I have already sewn a teeny tiny dress for my lil one. A simple single piece outfit for casual wear. Now she has almost outgrown it. My WIP project is a small tank top for her from an old top of mine. And also a small butterfly mobile as she loves to look at colorful objects.<br />
